Awesome Alternative Cuts

There’s a famous scene in Breaking Bad, in which Gus Fring brings Walter White to the desert after a pivotal event. In the original, Gus asks Walt about his health to discern if that’s why he acted impulsively. Alternative Cuts imagines how the scene might have played out if Gus were a doctor working up a differential diagnosis of Heisenberg’s condition.

Part of why Walter White’s rise to power was so successful was that he was meticulous about covering his tracks. Alternative Cuts imagines what Breaking Bad might have been like if its characters were more cavalier in their attitudes and threw caution to the wind. Man, that Walt Jr. was one cool customer.

The scene in Breaking Bad, when Hector Salamanca dispenses with Gus Fring, is one of the most memorable moments in the entire series. Thanks to the power of editing and VFX, Alternative Cuts put together a very different ending to that pivotal scene. Despite the video’s title, we’re pretty certain Gus didn’t make it.
