Awesome Alfred Hitchcock

Alfred Hitchcock loved to inject himself into scenes in his movies. In this cleverly edited black-and-white short film from Fabrice Mathieu, he made it look like the Master of Suspense was the one true killer in his films, making Hitch’s cameos much more ominous.

After entertaining us with her covers of the DuckTales and Knight Rider themes, cellist Samara Ginsberg is back with something a bit more ominous. Her 8-part take on Bernard Herrmann’s Prelude from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho will definitely have you looking over your shoulder the next time you take a shower.

Master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock had a thing for staircases, going so far as naming one of his movies The 39 Steps. Editor and Hitchcock fan Max Tohline created this montage of 39 staircase shots from 39 films directed by Hitch, from Easy Virtue in his early career through his penultimate 1972 film Frenzy.

Blank on Blank dusted off a classic 1957 interview with the late, great master of psychological horror, animating Hitch’s pontification on fear, suspense, and death, and maintaining a sense of humor about all of it.
