Feeling inspired, maker DanCreator got to work building a cardboard replica of the mech’s cockpit that’s big enough for him to sit inside of. Now he needs to build a torso and legs.

Sugar Lab’s mad scientists went batty for Halloween, using 3D printers to make edible sweets in seasonal shapes like Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Apple Covered Caramels turn the classic inside out with a caramel and apple butter filling, while Day of the Dead Glitter Skulls dissolve into edible glitter when plopped into cocktails.

LEGO builder MOCingbird celebrates unsung heroes with this diorama that features a city scene and a team of workers fighting off a “fatberg.” As part of their unpleasant but necessary jobs, sewer professionals must clean up these blobs of fat, oil, grease, and waste that accumulate and clog or damage sewage systems.

Our favorite part was the cars and engines starting around 6:43.

Pop artist Mr. Doodle turned his entire house into a canvas. Between September 2020 and September 2022, he covered virtually every surface inside and out with his black and white doodles. Along the way, he used more than 900 liters of white paint, 401 cans of black spray paint, and 286 bottles of black ink, and 2296 pen nibs.

Metalsmith Koss shows off the build process for a rather distinctive modern knife with a chisel-style blade. They started with a rusty bar of W1-7 high carbon steel, then cut it down to size, shaped it with a cutting wheel, and refined its razor-sharpened edges. Those handle scales are made from brass flat stock.

The Flairdrum is an unusual percussive instrument that uses PET water bottles filled with varying amounts of compressed air. The air pressure changes the surface tension of each bottle, resulting in different notes when struck. Daniel Bornmann performed this ear-soothing rendition of his track Am Anfang ist Klang.

Homemade Modern has shown us how to make a concrete castle sculpture using a LEGO brick mold. Now he’s taken that technique and applied it to something more practical – the corners for a platform bed. The concrete pillars are fully load-bearing, and the bed assembles easily with interlocking wood beams and slats.
