This fantastic short film by Fabrice Mathieu tells the tale of a shadow who finds himself frustrated with the actions of his wearer and decides to do something about it. Told using black-and-white footage from more than 60 films, the story unfolds much like a classic film noir, with plenty of action and intrigue.

The zombie-slaying game Dying Light 2 Stay Human encourages players to improvise weapons to take down the undead. Thanks to Integza, we have a real-world, 2-for-1 weapon that combines the reach of a sword with the power of a chainsaw. The finished chainsword is driven by an 8 horsepower brushless DC motor.

After sharing close-up footage of Vitamin C crystals, photographer Jens Heidler of , Another Perspective has done the same with honey. This video shows what the sugar crystals in honey look when viewed through a microscope and illuminated with polarized light. How the crystals dissolve in hot water is fascinating.

Designer, writer, and engineer Marcin Wichary created this extensive visual history of keyboards and the people who use them. The two-volume set is packed with 1300 photos and numerous stories about the amazing mechanical device that changed the world in so many ways.

Philadelphia-based UntitledCoDesign makes wonderful home accessories, including this unique polka dot cutting board. Each board is handmade from locally-sourced maple and inlaid with dots of various woods found in their shop. It measures 17.25″ x 7.5″ x 1.75″ and has a circular handle cutout.

Artist DariusTwin has made some amazing stop-motion animations using point sources of light and long exposures. This short vertical video transports us to a magical, rainbow-filled world set to the tune of the classic song Dream (When You’re Feeling Blue).

Watch shop IFLW and The Dial Artist create customized timepieces by meticulously hand-painting their dials and markers. Among their collection of bespoke G-SHOCK models is this see through “Jellyfish” analog/digital watch with rainbow markings and bezel lettering. It also comes in black or full metal.

We weren’t familiar with the Japanese manga and anime Jujutsu Kaisen, but now that we’ve seen that one character wields a sword with a human hand for a handle, we want to know more. Bladesmith and prop maker Tetrahymena created a knife inspired by the unusual weapon, and we’d like to shake his hand for a job well done.

Fans of Dungeons & Dragons will love this boxed set of postcards featuring images from the vast catalog of D&D art. There are 50 different designs from various editions of the classic RPG. Each image is repeated twice so you can frame half of them, and mail the other half to your friends.

In this video from The Q, he shows us how he made a hand-cranked machine for displaying animations using cardboard, rubber bands, and a few pieces of hardware. The zoetrope-like device has a series of 25 animation frames on each of its tiers, creating the illusion of movement when it spins.

Bobby Duke has lots of different art skills. After finding a plastic dragon skeleton at a thrift store, he disassembled, traced, and replicated its parts using a 3D drawing pen. But he didn’t just stick with the original design – Bobby made his dragon much more badass. He used a wood-burning pen to smooth out the edges.

Willem Dafoe has played lots of baddies, but he’s never portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime, Joker. Crafty Art imagines what the sharp-featured actor might look like in the role with this impressive sculpture that took over 300 hours to create. After creating the clay bust, they cast a resin version for painting and detailing.

This animated short film envisions Earth 100,000 years in the future. After changes in the environment and climate have left the planet ravaged, new lifeforms emerge from the primordial soup, adapting and evolving to thrive in a very different world than we know today. Wakka Wakka Wakka. The iconic arcade character Pac-Man gets a tribute from TheDominoKing. It took about 10 days to set up all 35,949 dominoes and under a minute to knock them all over. Along the way, the dot gobbler takes out every ghost in the maze before being felled himself.

Artist Ross McSweeney created these fascinating mechanical coasters. There are four smooth-spinning patterns, including geometric shapes, gears, and a bicycle. Their outer gears touch when placed next to each other so that you can spin multiple designs simultaneously. You can purchase the SVG files for laser cutting on Etsy.
