Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon wouldn’t exist without Star Wars. In fact, it started out as a script he pitched to Lucasfilm. But what if the filmmaker got to make an actual Star Wars movie? Auralnauts pokes fun at Snyder’s tendency to drag things out with slow-motion, grandiose music, and gloomy color filters with the unofficial Snyder cut of A New Hope.

Zack Snyder pitched Lucasfilm on a Star Wars movie, but it never came to fruition. So, the filmmaker created a new science fiction universe on a similar scale. Rebel Moon kicks off with a two-part movie about a peaceful colony threatened by an oppressive empire and the young woman who could be the savior of the universe. Part one hits Netflix 12.22.23.

There are many epic action scenes in Zack Snyder’s 300, including the dolly shot that zooms in and out on King Leonidas in the Battle of Thermopylae. Wren from Corridor Crew wanted to see if he could replicate the original’s triple camera rig using three iPhones, then shot a battle sequence with piñatas in place of Persians.

(Gore) You might not know that Tig Notaro wasn’t in the original cast of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. After Chris D’Elia was bounced from the film, Tig stepped in and was digitally integrated into scenes. To celebrate their 400th Honest Trailer, Screen Junkies takes on not one or two movies, but the entire DC Extended Universe – a series of questionably dark and brooding superhero movies that started with 2013’s Man of Steel. Despite their many flaws, we still keep coming back for more.

We just got our hands on the first full-length trailer for Zach Snyder’s explosive, imaginative, over-the-top, action-chick-flick, out March 2011. We’re hoping it lives up to its incredible looks.

Directed by Zack Snyder (of 300 and Watchmen), Sucker Punch is looking awesome. The action-fantasy is described as “Alice in Wonderland with Guns.” Sounds good to us. Opens 3/2011.
