Elevated Woodworking creates a variety of wooden maps of the U.S. and individual states, each featuring a textured topography. Pieces range from small tabletop versions up to an enormous 8′ wide wall map with separate pieces for each state. There’s also a magnetic version you can buy complete or piece-by-piece.

Build your own dome-shaped structure with this unique set of connectors. Simply add wooden sticks, and attach Hubs‘ sturdy, adjustable joints to build a geodesic dome in under an hour. The kit supports structures up to about 66 lb, and as big as 16 feet in diameter.

On first glance, this table just looks like a stack of plywood sitting on some cubbies. But Chris Salomone’s clever build conceals a big secret – it’s hollow and has lots of storage space inside. It was built using just two sheets of ply.

Currently available in the UK, U-Build is a DIY modular and flat-pack wood and hardware system for building structures, furniture, and storage. You design your layout and dimensions on its website, then the parts are sent to you. You need only basic tools to put the frame together.

Andriy Design’s desktop calendar is inspired by those vintage flip calendars which date back to the 1920s. Simply flip the day, date, or month modules, and it the next entry appears. It’s not available as completed product, but you can buy the files for laser-cutting from ArtHouseUA.

Fine furniture maker Craig Thibodeau created this incredible work of functional art. The cabinet not only features intricate marquetry and inlay work, but a series of drawers and compartments that can only be opened if you know its secrets. Puzzle designs by Robert “Stickman” Yarger.

Bobby Duke Arts plays with his wewd once again. This time, he transformed a bunch of scrap wood into an oversize baseball cap. Then he teamed up with maker William Osman to try and (unsuccessfully) make the hat’s brim follow the sun.

After watching Nick Zammeti make a gigantic pencil out of colored pencils, we figured he was out of pencils. But Nick is back to wow us with another build – a working ukulele made from the same stuff. We were wondering how he was gonna hollow out the body. Now we get it.

Artist Ditty Laser Designs creates cool works of art for fans of arcade games. Their Etsy shop offers small laser-etched wood panels featuring imagery from classics like Space Invaders, Dig Dug, and Donkey Kong. They also make a series of fun laser-cut Pokémon cards.

Etsy seller 1Man1Garage’s unique, wooden tabletop lamp was inspired by the ornate and imposing style of gothic churches. It comes as a flat-packed kit with 120 pieces, making it both a puzzle you can build, and a permanent work of art for your home.

For no reason other than to see if he could do it, artist Nick Zammeti made a gigantic coloring pencil out of thousands of individual coloring pencils. He adhered the pencils together with resin, turned them on a lathe, then carved it into shape. Its giant lead means it can actually draw.

While we prefer pizzas that we can actually eat, we still enjoyed watching woodworker Kyle Toth as he created a pizza that only a termite or carpenter ant could enjoy. The pepperoni is made from bloodwood, the cheese is yellowheart, and the crust is hickory.

Origin Artwork offers this highly-detailed laser-etched 3D wood model of the Death Star’s famous trench from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. It’s ready to be wall-mounted and comes in three sizes – 8″x 16″, 10″x 20″ and 20″x 40″.

There are lots of really cheap speakers out there, and most of them sound like garbage. YouTuber Jisaku kōbō shows us how a pair of $3 speakers can sound much, much better when placed into a pair of proper wooden enclosures. Of course, skilled labor is the real cost here.

Jackman Works loves to make stuff from reclaimed pallet wood. Recently, he teamed up with maker Tim Sway and used the material to craft a beautiful electric guitar by gluing together sheets of the irregular wood, then CNC milling the body out of the laminated block.

Linz Zuelich of Wood Brain creates beautiful and elegant flasks by layering thin veneers of wood onto a stainless steel drink containers using waterproof, permanent adhesive. While they’re all pretty nifty, we’re particularly fond of the multi-wood versions.
