Awesome Voltron

This limited-edition poster from artist Danny Haas and Mondo celebrates the classic 1980s TV series Voltron. The vibrant 18″ x 24″ print features the Defender of the Universe itself and the five pilots who combined forces (and their robot lions) to form the mighty mech.

Bandai has released an impressive Soul of Chogokin action figure of the super robot from Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, aka the Vehicle Voltron. All 15 vehicles are here, and snap together to form an 11″ tall mech. It comes with a ton of weapons and four pairs of hands.

We’re pretty excited about the new LEGO Voltron set, but this 6-foot-tall version of the mech features more than 12 times as many pieces. This impressive construction took LEGO master builders over 233 hours and 28,000 bricks to design and assemble.

From the LEGO Ideas proposal comes the official LEGO Voltron set! It has the five lions from the 80’s cartoon, which combine to form a 15″ Voltron. The mech form’s head, shoulders, arms and wrists are posable. The 2321-piece set drops 8/1/18 with limited availability at SDCC.

Just in time for the Voltron reboot, LEGO Ideas member len_d69 is proposing an official LEGO set of the Lion Force robots based on their classic appearance. The lions can transform and combine into a 16″ 2lb. Voltron mech.

80s Tees’ Deluxe Voltron Costume Hoodie will defend you from the cold. It features three of the Lion Force Voltrons, with the Black Lion having a detachable jaw. 80s Tees also has a version that has no lion heads.

Director Alex Albrecht proves that you don’t need a big budget or top-notch special effects to make a good sci-fi flick. It’s the human element that makes a movie memorable, even if it’s about robots.

This Vitruvian Voltron tee may seem anachronistic, but we are talking Da Vinci here: we think a flying fortress made out of robotic lions would be right up the renaissance man’s alley.
