Remember when you had to manually transform your Transformers? That changes today, thanks to Hasbro and Robosen. This impressive 19″ tall robot can automatically convert, and can do it via voice or a smartphone app. The G1 Optimus Prime is loaded with 80 sound effects, and the original voice of the Autobot’s leader.
The Cybertronic Spree is a cover band who performs as stylized versions of the Transformers. Beyond their impressive cosplay, they’re also talented musicians, as they demonstrate with this powerful cover version of Heart’s classic Barracuda. Manila-based maker Real Awesome Workz shows off their epic costume replica of The Transformers’ friendly yellow autobot Bumblebee, which he built primarily out of lightweight EVA foam. To celebrate 35 years of Back to the Future, Hasbro has made a new Transformer known as “Gigawatt.” In vehicle form, it looks like Doc and Marty’s DeLorean DMC-12 time machine, but can turn into a mech with a flux capacitor in his chest. The car’s wheels also flip into horizontal mode like the flying version in the movies.
The 1980s meets the 1980s with this fun mashup toy from Hasbro. The poseable figure is a model of Ghostbusters’ iconic Ecto-1 wagon that uses 22 moves to transform into a 7 inch-tall, ghost-zapping mech warrior. Includes a scale Slimer figure to go with.
Super7’s Transformers G1 Super Cyborg is a line of action figures that depict our beloved Autobots and Decepticons in their classic cartoon style, with the added bonus of a removable chest plate that exposes their inner workings. The Megatron figure is available from TF Source.
The leader of the Autobots becomes the first Transformer to join Kaiyodo’s Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi line. This G1-inspired Optimus Prime action figure stands 5.5″ tall, comes with an axe and a rifle, and is incredibly articulated for lots of posing flexibility.

3A Toys is releasing a Bumblebee action figure based on his appearance in his solo movie. The figure stands 8″ tall and has 55 points of articulation. It has an extra masked head, three pairs of swappable hands and an extra right arm with a blaster. Drops 12/1/18 for $165.
Alpha Industries teamed up with Hasbro to create a special edition of its classic MA-1 bomber jacket for Transformers’ fans. The jacket features a Bumblebee yellow shell, black racing stripes, flight tag zippers, and is reversible to reveal an epic Transformers illustration.
Soundwave toy inferior, DIY Soundwave boombox superior. I Like to Make Stuff made a boombox-sized Bluetooth speaker that looks like his favorite Transformer, the Decepticon’s Soundwave. As he said, you can choose to tackle the project in a simpler way than he did.
PCS Collectibles is starting a line of statues that depict the Autobots and the Decepticons as they appeared in the original The Transformers cartoon. First in line is Optimus Prime. The 10.5″ tall polystone statue comes with swappable rifle and energy axe parts.
