If you told us a movie about a plastic spork being dug out of the trash would make over a billion dollars, we’d think you were nuts. But Toy Story 4 managed to do just that while keeping a 25-year-old franchise fresh and fun. Screen Junkies latest trailer reminded us it’s about time for us to queue up a Toy Story marathon.
THE BEST Toy Story
Sidney “Sid” Phillips was the neighborhood bully in Toy Story who got served his just desserts when he messed with Andy’s toys. This parody trailer by Poster Boys envisions what happened to Sid as he grew up, endlessly haunted by visions of Woody and his deformed toy pals.
Musician Richard Jones performs a heartwarming rendition of Randy Newman’s Toy Story classic You’ve Got a Friend in Me, starting out with a pizzicato intro sequence, then using a loop pedal to turn those sounds into the rhythm for his bowed violin performance.
Imagine for a moment that the toys in the Toy Story franchise weren’t alive in the way Pixar wants us to believe they are, and instead are synthetic hosts created by the Delos Corporation. Nico Bellamy shares that vision with us in his hilariously dark mashup trailer of Toy Story and Westworld.
The Onion’s film critic Peter K. Rosenthal takes a look at the latest Toy Story film, comparing the CGI animated tale with its source material, a traditional German fairy tale “die Reise der Spielzeuge,” written in 1793. Needless to say that Disney Pixar’s version comes off as a little watered down.
The latest trailer for Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 4 shows more of Woody, Buzz, and the gang’s misadventures as they try to rescue their new friend, a silly and happy go lucky toy spork. They make new friends along the way, some with questionable ideas. The movie premieres 6/21/19.
Toy Story’s spacey action hero must do battle with the Dark Lord of the Sith after landing his spaceship right under his nose. Will good or evil triumph in this unexpected showdown from the guys at Nukazooka? We knew this sort of thing would happen after Disney bought Star Wars.
