Awesome Tower Defense

From the developer behind Moonlighter comes a beautiful and highly addictive strategy game. Currently out in Early Access, Cataclismo has you build a medieval fortress and defend it against hordes of monsters. Its brilliantly flexible building system is complimented by different game modes. The storybook art is a huge plus for us, too.

Ratalaika’s arcade game combines the strategic elements of a tower defense game with an old-school platform shooter. As your spacecraft is invaded by aliens, you must use a combination of turrets and handheld weapons to keep your level from being overrun. Available 6.12.20 on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

The adorable real-time tower defense game is back. PixelJunk Monsters 2 features beautiful 3D graphics, new towers, items and abilities and local and online multiplayer modes for up to 4 players. Available for Windows, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.

The sequel to one of the best tower defense games ever made will launch on iOS devices on 06/06/13. It will have new towers, enemies and heroes. Flash version to follow; sadly, there’s no word on its Android release yet. More here.

It’s old hat for iPhone and iPod users, but PSP owners can get a crack at Fieldrunners today in the new Minis section of the Playstation Store; it’ll include new maps, towers and runners.

Frontline Defense doesn’t innovate the tower defense genre, but we still wasted a good hour on it; it has a near-future feel to it, mixing infantry and machine gunners with Tesla towers.
