Awesome Time Travel

(PG-13: Language) Adam Long and Adam Peterson’s warped short film drops us into a conversation between two buddies. But what starts out as an attempt to cheer up a depressed friend takes a wild turn that reveals a disturbing family secret and a critical mission to prevent the universe from ripping itself apart.

(PG-13: Language) Future Garbage presents an excellent short film about a time traveler who visits the exact location and time at which time travel itself was discovered. But will his trip disrupt the fabric of the universe and create a paradox? Written, directed, produced by and starring David Matthew Olson.

The guys at Squirrel Monkey offer up a 1980s style training video for the fictitious Department of Time Travel, envisioning a world in which the government started to develop a time machine back in the 1940s, and eventually unleashed it on human subjects after a series of failures and animal tests.

Real Life Lore simplifies the reasons why time travel to the past is impossible, or rather philosophically unsound. Traveling to the past most likely means destroying your own present, which is either impossible or makes your journey impossible in the first place.

Not Exactly Normal presents a fascinating look at the belief held by some that time travel not only is scientifically possible, but that there are people (like Keanu Reeves) who already are already taking advantage of the technology.

This upcoming Netflix original series originates from Germany, and follows the story of two children who suddenly vanish. As the layers of the onion are peeled back, we’re lead down the rabbit hole into a mystery about the very nature of time. Drops 12/1/17.

(PG-13 Language) Leigh Lahav and New Form Digital debut a hilarious new animated web series about a video store clerk who converts an old DVD player into a time machine, and the wacky antics that ensue for her and her friend whenever they play another disc.

(SPOILERS) Game of Thrones’ sixth season brought a classic sci-fi trope into the series. Vox enumerates the three most popular kinds of time travel in fiction and points out that what GoT has is the one that’s both mind-blowing and disappointing.
