Awesome The Wizard Of Oz

With the massive success of Wicked, The Wizard of Oz is as relevant today as ever. Nike hops on the bandwagon to Oz with a pair of vibrant sneakers in a hypnotic hydro-dipped floral print, inspired by the scene in the field of poppies. There’s subtle “No Place Like Home” typography on the back. Drops 12.23.24 at 9 am ET in adult, little kid, and toddler sizes.

Fans of the musical Wicked, the folks at Theory11 have released a gravity-defying deck of playing cards just for you. The deck comes packed in a fancy emerald green and gold foil box. The card backs are embellished with imagery of the Emerald City, with face cards inspired by Glinda, Elphaba, Madame Morrible, The Wizard of Oz, and more.

In 2004, editor Matt Bucy chopped up The Wizard of Oz and rearranged every sound and word into alphabetical order. The result is the nonsensical but oddly compelling Of Oz the Wizard, or as commenter Jenny Reiswig put it even better, The Wizard of A to Z. Despite the task’s apparent complexity, he says most of the work only took about 20 hours.

Mondo teamed up with WaterTower Music to create this expanded soundtrack of the motion picture classic The Wizard of Oz. Limited to 3,000 copies, the set includes three colored vinyl records with the original soundtrack, alternative versions, and outtakes, packaged in awesome accordion pop-up jacket by Alan Hynes.

Kings Wild Project’s deck celebrates the classic story of The Wizard of Oz. Done up in an Emerald City green and gold color scheme, it features original illustrations by Jackson Robinson, inspired by L. Frank Baum’s masterpiece that dates back to 1900.

While Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is said to be the perfect companion track to The Wizard of Oz, Craig J. Clark’s rescore of the classic film using over sixty tracks from They Might Be Giants works equally well.
