We’re used to hearing the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as a hip hop song. But musician Stefan Murphy of The Mighty Stef gave it a whole different sound, as a solemn Irish folk song that will have you weeping into your glass of Jameson’s by the time it’s over.

Now this is a story all about how… my life got flipped turned upside down. Filmmaker Morgan Cooper presents a modern take on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, in which Will Smith’s character is subject to 21st century problems as he adjusts from life in Philly to Souther Cali.

The original theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stands on its own, but we’ve gotta hand it to musician Ed Sheeran for putting a fresh coat of his smooth acoustic folk-pop style on the ’90s rap track during a recent appearance on Capital FM.
