Lalo Tequila was co-founded by Eduardo ‘Lalo’ González, the grandson of tequila pioneer Don Julio. Lalo uses a traditional cooking method and just three ingredients: hand-picked agave from the Jalisco highlands, yeast, and water. Unlike many tequila labels, Lalo distills the agave only twice, and doesn’t add sugar, artificial flavors or additives.
A tasty tequila has joined the Campari Group and (surprise!) it’s not an aged anejo. Mayenda Tequila is a rarity: a young blanco made to be equally good for sipping or mixing. How? Mayenda captures flavors of cooked agave by adding two extra steps before distillation: maceration and the addition of agave miel.
A multi-platinum star without a booze brand is like a day without sunshine. Or, in this case a day without a Tequila Sunrise. Not only does Bay Area hip-hop star E-40 have his own Blanco, Reposado and Anejo tequilas — he named them after himself: E. Cuarenta literally means E-40 in Spanish.
When Astral Tequila Blanco debuted, it was practically written in the stars that they’d eventually launch two more affordable offerings: Astral Tequila Reposado and Astral Tequila Añejo. For just a couple extra bucks, go for the Añejo, a mellow 100% Blue Weber agave spirit aged 12 months in single-use American Oak Bourbon barrels.
When a cocktail is this substantial, it’s easy to justify a liquid lunch. For the Taquito-rita, JAJA Tequila took a classic margarita, added muddled jalapeños, and garnished it with a stack of Delimex Taquitos. Genius. The celery stalk makes it a balanced meal in a glass, and Go Puff’s kit makes it easy.
These unique ceramic cups from Historically Modern Designs are perfect for sipping tequila and mezcal. Their bowl shape is inspired by traditional Mexican copitas, but with a more contemporary style. Each volcanic ash ceramic cup has a wide rim to concentrate aromas. Sold in a set of two. Also available in glass.
Los Arango tequila honors Jose Doroteo Arango (AKA Pancho Villa) for defending his people in the Mexican Revolution. Trailblazing celebrity stylist Jason Rembert is not a minimalist. He fitted Zayn Malik with a robotic arm for a Met Gala, crowned Solange in a crystal halo for SNL, dressed erratic Ezra Miller (yes, the fugitive) in a puffer gown for a film premiere, and mixed up a mean Maximalist Margarita for Grand Marnier.

Distilled from high-altitude Blue Weber agave, Casa Noble Tequila was a pioneer in the use of certified organic agave, even going so far as to make their own compost to guarantee its purity. The blanco tequila’s refined flavor and aroma come from resting in toasted French oak barrels instead of common American oak.
Streetwear trendsetter John Geiger gets his kicks this Cinco de Mayo with a top-shelf textured leather sneaker for Patron Tequila. Inspired by the stars, Astral Tequila is a super-premium tequila made in Jalisco, Mexico from 100% Blue Weber agave. A traditional milling process uses a stone wheel to crush juices from agave fibers, which are fermented together to maximize use of the plant. Spent fibers are then upcycled into bricks for local communities.
Did you know that “margarita” actually means “daisy” in Spanish? Patron Tequila and St. Germain teamed up with artist and floral visionary, Maurice Harris, to create a bouquet of fresh takes on the classic cocktail. The floral secret ingredient is St. Germain liqueur, made with 1,000 handpicked elderflower blossoms.
Most tipplers (mixologists, too) are unaware of how many additives are used to doctor tequilas, including perfumes, colorings, and mystery compounds to improve flavor or mouthfeel. De-Nada Blanco and Reposado, on the other hand, are on the shortlist of tequilas confirmed to be additive-free, passing annual audits.

For 99 years, Cazadores has made tequila with 100% Blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Their sustainably produced reposado is double distilled and double fermented, then spends months resting in new American oak barrels before bottling. The melded flavors yield high-quality cocktails without a high price.
Cutwater Spirits’ third tequila release is Tequila Añejo, joining the award-winning Reposado and Blanco in Cutwater’s 20+ spirit lineup of gin, vodka, rum, whisky, mezcal, and canned cocktails produced in San Diego. The versatile distiller makes tequila in – naturally – Tequila, Mexico, using 100% blue agave that’s slow cooked in traditional brick ovens then double-distilled.
For National Tequila Day, Patron released its limited-edition 2021 Patron Mexican Heritage Tin featuring colorful art by Mexican street muralist, Senkoe. It inspired the Patron x John Geiger streetwear collection: collectible socks and a long sleeve shirt depicting a jimador farmer harvesting agave for tequila.
Co-founded by Mexican-American PGA golfer Abraham Ancer, Flecha Azul Tequila is made from estate-grown Blue Weber Agave in one of Mexico’s first tequila distilleries, dating back to 1840.
