If you can get over your fear of lightning, sitting in the rain during a thunderstorm can be quite a relaxing experience. But at this spa you can experience a torrential downpour without leaving the building. The immersive experience includes a drenching downpour, projections of lightning, and lighting and sound effects.

During 2020, photographer and filmmaker Dustin Farrell spent the better part of six months, driving more than 38,000 miles to chase down storms and shoot footage. The end result, 101 incredible shots of nature’s fury in action, compiled into an epic 3-minute short film.

Blue Dog Films used a Canon 5d Mk3 to capture this incredibly ominous and awe-inspiring time-lapse footage of a storm brewing over Maroochydore, Australia, churning away like something from the ark opening scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Vacationers on a beach in Novosibirsk, Siberia were recently taken by surprise when the skies turned dark and a major wind and hailstorm erupted, creating a scene that looks like its straight out of the apocalypse.
