The Washington Post made a recap of Star Wars in the style of Ken Burns’ documentary The Civil War. But YouTuber OneNerdShow already had the exact same idea and he executed it way better too.

Ever the contrarian, Bill Burr makes himself the mouthpiece of a minority by publicly admitting on Conan that he never understood the world’s love for Star Wars. Why? Blame Tony Montana. We love how scared Conan became as Bill kept talking.

YouTuber KyleKallgrenBHH made a summary of Star Wars IV: A New Hope using sounds and clips from other movies and TV shows. The resulting remix shows that Star Wars is deeply embedded into pop culture, but is itself a jumbled recollection of its predecessors.

After creating a magnetic version of Thor’s hammer, YouTuber Sufficiently Advanced made his own energy weapon. His take on the lightsaber uses a steady stream of methanol and acetone to create a fiery blade. In other words, it’s a blowtorch with a lightsaber hilt.

Practical effects wizard Joey Shanks shows us how to replicate the lightsaber effect seen in the first Star Wars movie not using digital trickery, but the same 3M Scotchlite reflection effect that Lucas and his team used back in 1977. The spinning blade trick was brilliant.

Bad Lip Reading jumps on the Star Wars bandwagon with not one, but three videos, one each for A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, turned into nonsense with the help of Bill Hader, Jack Black and Maya Rudolph. At least Han still shot first.
