Sofia Coppola’s is based on the same novel as the 1971 film of the same name, in which a wounded Yankee soldier takes refuge in a girls’ school in the South, and becomes the object of their desires. Basically, it’s a dark version of Sir Galahad arriving at Castle Anthrax.
