Awesome Snow

Designed to give kids and small adults a comfortable vantage point from which to enjoy a ride in the snow, the Equinox 685 Snowcoach an enclosed trailer that rides on shock absorbed skis, and can be towed by a snowmobile or ATV.

Designer Eric Brunt’s concept snowshoe automatically expands and contracts its surface, providing for a more natural walk than traditional flat snowshoes, and adapting to variable snow conditions and terrain.

Because snow bowling wasn’t enough fun, Devin Supertramp and his pals decided to combine the activities of ziplining and sledding into a single thrilling sport. We think this is the way they should start the Olympic luge and skeleton.

You’d think that ice and motorcycles wouldn’t mix, but stunt rider Jorian Ponomareff proved just the opposite as he pulled off some awesome drifts and tricks on the slippery stuff. An oldie, but a goodie from 2012. Fun BTS video here.

For some reason, we assumed the snow covering the slopes at the Olympic games was natural. In fact, much of it is made using powerful machines from SMI Snow Makers, who capture clean water and convert it into piles of realistic snow.

Made by Grand Shelters, the Icebox makes it easy to create igloos between 7′ to 11′ in diameter. Simply pack snow in between its clamps then open it up and slide it off to make a new block. It also comes with an extendable pole.

Prior to this video, the main worry we had for our prized snow sculptures was a spontaneous weather warmup – not a roving family of tigers. Guess that’s what you get for building them in a safari park.

54-year old Simon Beck makes huge geometric art by walking on snow. It takes him up to 10 hours per day to finish a single artwork, which he usually makes at the Les Arcs ski resort in France.
