Awesome Smash Mouth

We present for your entertainment the one-billionth cover version of Smash Mouth’s megahit All Star, but somehow Leo Moracchioli managed to give it a totally new sound by making the track as metal as possible. Also, how does he sing with that full-face mask on?

What happens when you take Smash Mouth’s memetastic hit All-Star and set it to the tune of Leonard Cohen’s classic ballad Hallelujah? In the hands of musician Josh Jackson and his mighty beard, you get Internet magic.

The whole All Star but meme thing is already getting pretty played out, but we couldn’t resist sharing Gud Nuse’s version of Smash Mouth’s 1999 hit track, played as a somber minor key ballad on piano, along with a soulful saxophone accompaniment.

You’ll never know if you don’t go. You’ll never shine if you don’t glow. Actress and singer Dear Lindsay hopped on the Smash Mouth memewagon with a very special rendition of All Star, performed as a dramatic reading that takes us on an emotional rollercoaster.

Only shooting stars break the mold… We’re so used to hearing Smash Mouth’s hit All Star as an upbeat pop tune, but YAOG continues to prove that just about any song can be made into a sad ballad by arranging it in a minor key, and bringing down the speed.

We’re not sure why, but the Smash Mouth song All Star seems to be enjoying a bit of a renaissance. Here, we get James Nielssen’s interpretation of the pop hit played entirely with system sounds from Windows XP, and Clippy on lead vocals.

There are but a few other songs which have served as the basis for so many memes as Smash Mouth’s 1999 hit All Star. In this video from William Hutchinson, we hear the song ever so slightly tweaked so the vocals never change pitch after the initial note.
