The sequel to Ubisoft’s looter shooter takes place shortly after the events of the first game. The Division 2 is set in the summer in Washington D.C. The game packs more balanced weapons and gear, a revamped skill system and a new clan option for multiplayer.

(Gore) Inspired by Asian cop movies, The Hongkong Massacre is a fast-paced top-down shooter that is as stylish as it is challenging. One shot and you’re dead, but you can slow down time, slide and somersault. Drops 1/23/19 for Windows and PS4.

Farewell, stairs and hallways. The upcoming expansion of the free-to-play third person shooter Warframe will add a new open world with seamless mission transitions, and will let you fly around on your Archwing. It also adds a weapon building system. Gameplay here.

Formerly known as Enemy Starfighter, the one-man effort House of the Dying Sun puts you in the cockpit of a fighter pilot exacting revenge on the traitors who killed your emperor. The game is short, but it makes up for it with quality space dogfights and unlockables.

A sidescrolling shooter from one of the creators of Realm of the Mad God. StarBreak is a lot like Contra, except with dozens of other players and procedurally-generated dungeons. If you die, you have to start from scratch, but you keep any cash and loot that you stashed.

Another neon-streaked twin stick shooter from Housemarque, the developer behind Dead Nation, Resogun and Super Stardust. Alienation features drop-in/drop-out co-op, Souls-style PvP, random loot drops and different character classes. Drops 4/26/16 for PS4.

The cinematic teaser for Xbox One shooter Gears of War 4 sees JD Fenix – son of previous franchise hero Marcus – return to his home under very different circumstances. The game is set 25 years after GoW 3 and features a new enemy called the Swarm. More here.

(Gore) Karl Fairburne continues his fight against the Nazis in 1943 Italy. Sniper Elite 4 promises much larger levels than its predecessor, with improved movement to help you navigate the new levels. Drops for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows in 2016.

A third-person multiplayer PC shooter where up to 10 players on each side play toy soldiers battling in whimsical environments. Each of The Mean Greens’ 10 maps has a different objective. You can play foosball, gather flags from a ship in a bathtub and more.

From the maker of Magicka and The Showdown Effect comes another frantic coop game. Helldivers is a twin-stick shooter for up to 4 players, with lots of weapons, power-ups and friendly fire. Drops 3/3 on PS3, PS4 & PS Vita.

A stylish horror top-down shooter. Noct spooks players with its thermal imaging view, fog of war and cramped environments. The game will have procedurally generated levels and multiplayer. Headed to Windows, OS X and Linux.

Enemy Starfighter is a mix of real time strategy and space combat sim, and will support the Oculus Rift. It may not be as pretty as other upcoming space shooters, but it’s promising considering it’s being made by one man.

(Gore) Sharpshooter Karl Fairburne heads to Africa in Sniper Elite 3. The game will feature a more open world, with multiple cooperative two-player modes. The X-Ray Kill Cam returns and zooms in on mechanical objects as well.
