Awesome Scotland

Located in Scotland, The Hill House was created by architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Unfortunately, the damp climate has been unkind to the home’s experimental construction. Tom Scott shows us how conservationists are working to save the house by surrounding it with a box made from 34 million chain links.

The flight between Scotland’s Papa Westray and Westray islands is incredibly short, covering a distance of 2 kilometers in less than 90 seconds. But it does actually serve a purpose. Tom Scott took flight, and let San Denby from Wendover Productions narrate instead of annoying people on the flight with his own explanation.

Street trials and mountain bike rider Danny MacAskill once again shows off his skills in a dramatic way. In this short film by Peny, he heads to Scotland’s Dubh Slabs, and takes his bike on a wild ride down the steep and slippery rock formations. The Arcade Fire track No Cars Go serves as the perfect accompaniment to the visuals.

(PG-13: Language) When a group of teenage troublemakers head into the Scottish Highlands for an orienteering program, they get more than they bargained for, stumbling onto a creepy group of locals, a murder, and drugs along the way. The dark comedy has been winning raves, and is headed to Amazon Prime Video 8.28.2020.

As part of his Silence Project, photographer Casper Rolsted takes a less-is-more approach to filmmaking with this footage of Scotland’s beauty, accompanied by immersive and relaxing sounds of nature. Best enjoyed with headphones with the volume cranked.
