Awesome Scion

We recently drove from San Diego to Hollywood with Toyota in their fun and vibrant Scion iM hatchback. Along the way we flew jetpacks, went kayaking, boating, hiking, enjoyed amazing food and drink, and were reminded just how awesome road trips can be.

The Slow Mo Guys got to spend some quality time with Scion Racing driver Ken Gushi to capture the massive splashes from the tires of his Scion FR-S at 2,500 frames per second. Next up: Gav and Dan catch a cold.

These two entry-level sports cars are arguably the biggest hits of the last two years, both offering an amazingly fun ride for the price. But which one to buy? Driving Vancouver sets us straight on the diffs (at least in Canada).

The square body of the Scion xB is a bit of an acquired taste, but there’s no question about its flexibility. The guys from LA’s Seoul Sausage Co. have had theirs converted into a mobile grill truck. Oh, and their sausages rock too.

The popular, well-priced daily driver gets a facelift, with a sportier fascia, optimized power steering and braking, faster automatic shifting, and an upgraded Pioneer audio system with Bluetooth, HD radio and a 6.1″ touchscreen.

A collaborative design from Cartel and Mike Vu, this 2013 FR-S has an open chop-top, along with custom metal fabrication and body panels, painted up in a Halloween appropriate candy orange and black.

Designed just for snowboarding, it’s wrapped in waterproof 686 fabric, with outside zipper pockets, GoPro mirrors, swivel seats for quick boot fittings and specialized storage for fast board access.

Made by Giant Robot publisher Eric Nakamura and Len Higa of Onimotorworks, the car is filled with 8-bit references, from the boxy, button-filled exterior to the cartridge that turns the car on.

Scion is showing off their new micro-subcompact 2011 Scion iQ at the New York Auto Show, custom-fitted with Five Axis aerodynamics, black chrome accents, and titanium paint.

Scion continues its tradition of limited-production models with the tC Series 5.0; this time, it features TRD-sourced parts including 18″ alloy wheels, a rear sway bar and sport muffler.
