A Roomba has a top speed of about 1.1 mph. Electrosync knew he could do better. After cleaning out the dirt and dust from a Roomba’s vacuuming duties, gutted the robotic vacuum and installed two high-performance RC car motors. The two-wheeler can spin incredibly quickly, but how fast is it in a straight line?
When it comes to robots, the humble Roomba is one of the most useful. The only thing that would make one of these automated vacuums better is if it looked like a droid from Star Wars. Matthew Scott Hunter decided to do just that, and transformed his Roomba into a new home maintenance droid dubbed “R9-D9.”
iRobot’s Roomba i7+ empties the dirt it gathers into the Clean Base, which serves as both a dust bin and a charging station. The Clean Base has a disposable bag that holds up to 30 robot bins. The Roomba i7+ can also be instructed to clean different parts of the house via an app.
