Awesome Remakes

Musician David Bennett performs accurate recreations of classic songs. After impressing us with his version of A Day in the Life, he teamed up with vocalist Guy Bangham to produce a spot-on version of The Doors’ Riders on the Storm. The Rhodes V8 virtual keyboard helped recreate the sound of Ray Manzarek’s keyboard.

(PG-13) James Cameron’s Aliens was one of the best movies of the 1980s, and it still holds up to repeat viewings. What didn’t age as well is its original 1986 trailer, so Michael Edwards got to work editing together a new trailer with a more modern aesthetic and that builds the tension much better than the original.

(Gore) The guys from Cardboard Movie Co. love to do low-budget remakes of popular movies. We’re particularly impressed with their redo of Ridley Scott’s science fiction horror classic, Alien, which somehow manages to balance on the thin line between quality filmmaking and ridiculously low budget effects.

(NSFW: Language, Gore) Europe based “jeanmaker” company DENHAM pulls off an excellent remake of the cult classic American Psycho but modernizes it with a hipster spin to show off some of their denim designing prowess.

Words? Where we’re going, we don’t need words. Youtuber techsavvyed reimagines the climactic scene from Back to the Future 3 as it might have appeared in a “silent era” film. It’s still heavy.
