Formula Drift racer Ryan Tuerck and 11 other talented drivers took their cars into a syncronized drift around the track at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in Oregon. While there was a little fender rubbing, the overall feat is spectacular.

The Top Gear Festival in Australia didn’t just have a silly slow race, it also had the opposite. Red Bull drivers Mark Webber, Jamie Whincup and Casey Stoner pit their respective rides in an extremely unfair but also very fun “race.”

At a rainy practice race, GP3 driver Konstantin Tereschenko lost control of his car, which slid across the turf and was launched into the air upon hitting the inside of a sausage kerb. Thankfully the 20-year old was unharmed.

We were on hand when Ron Capps’ dragster blew up in an epic fireball, and now the NHRA has compiled this clip of some of the season’s other insane on-track disasters. It amazes us how more people don’t get hurt doing this.

At the Australian leg of the Top Gear Festival, pro bike riders competed using the Honda CT110, an 8hp 105cc clutchless motorcycle used by Aussie postmen or “posties.” It’s like watching F1 racers in lawnmowers.

White knuckle footage of hillclimb racer Jos Goodyear going up the narrow roads of Doune on his 400hp GWR Raptor. As if that wasn’t crazy enough, apparently his 35.05s lap time was “only” second best at the event. Skip to 1:30.

Ferrari F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen went for a round of lawnmower racing with Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert and Anthony Davidson prior to the British Grand Prix. Sadly he wasn’t able to replicate his performance when it mattered.

In 1963 Lola partnered with Ford to build the 4.2L V8-powered Mk6 GT and entered it into Le Mans. It then became the basis for the legendary Ford GT40. Only three chassis were made, and this is one of them.

With the help of his friends, 21-year-old Alex Kelsey was able to build his own rally car in his family’s garage. He calls it the MC2 – the Mad Creation 2 – a road legal car that can go from 0 to 124mph in just 7 seconds. More here.

At just 1,212lb., the Ariel Atom 3.5R is terrifyingly light, what with its supercharged 2L Honda Type-R engine now producing up to 350hp and 253lb.ft. of torque. It goes from 0 to 60mph in just 2.5s and will reach 100mph in 6s.
