Awesome Pokemon

Kiara’s Workshop made this awesome Pokéball that doesn’t just look like its video game counterpart both outside and inside. It also mimics the failed catch animation where the ball beeps and cracks open before closing itself back up. Its 3D-printed shell probably can’t take a beating, but you shouldn’t throw anything at wild animals anyway.

Open your eyes, look up to the skies, and see… Pokémon! Magik Mike put together this cursed mashup of the Pokémon theme song with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Then Elton John shows up to launch the whole thing into space. Prefer your tracks with more drums? You’re welcome.

Animator MootroidXproductions loves to create stop-motion shorts using action figures and toys. This epic battle sequence features a confrontation between multiple building-stomping Godzillas and a powerful human/Pikachu hybrid, all set to a jazzy soundtrack. They followed it up with Godzilla vs. Kong vs. Pexachu.

Artist WUZU clay made the cutest little sculpture of a Nintendo Game Boy / Game Boy Advance hybrid. They built the display inside a metal tin with an acrylic control section and working switches, then sculpted the game’s D-Pad, buttons, and characters out of polymer clay with magnets to hold them in place.

Pokémon will recognize this character as the Blastoise – a big turtle with powerful water cannons under its shell. 3D Sanago crafted this statue of the turtle and rigged it to shoot steam from its cannons instead of water. He used a stone to provide a curved template for drawing the body with a 3D printing pen. Turn subtitles on.

To celebrate 25th years of Pokémon, Baccarat enlisted artist Hiroshi Fujiwara to create an extraordinary collectible. Limited to 25 pieces, the 11.8″ tall crystal Pikachu weighs 18.2 lb. and sells for $25,000. For those looking for something more affordable, there’s a 5.8″ tall Pikachu for $440 and a 2.75″ Poké Ball for $410.

Realm Crafts spent a full year working on this incredible cross-stitch, packed with all 151 first-generation Pokémon characters. While we would have loved it if the time-lapse had more in-between frames to show us, the artistry of the work more than makes up for it.

Every time we’ve tried to write “Happy Birthday” on a cake, it comes out a sloppy mess. Pastry artist Manna-Tanuki shows us how it’s done, creating incredibly precise and clean lines in the icing of a Pocket Pikachu cookie. Seiko made just 1200 of this super-effective Pokémon watch, featuring a bright yellow background and a silhouette of Pikachu on its face. It features a stainless steel body, 10-bar water resistance, and a black leather strap with yellow stitching and yellow backing.

(PG-13) A group of Pokémon Go players employs the help of a kid to help hatch some virtual eggs. All of a sudden, a crowd descends on their car with the notion that the costumed kid is an actual Pikachu. Like all RackaRacka videos, chaos, violence, and destruction quickly ensue.

Do you love Pokémon? Then put on your headphones and crank up the volume for an immersive audio session with Pikachu. The adorable, electrically-charged pocket monster romps around the living room, fills our ears with adorable noises for 15 minutes, and eventually doses off.

Carbon fiber is a very versatile, strong, and lightweight material. But it’s not the easiest stuff to work with. Matthieu Libeert shows us just how much work went into making this slick looking version of Pokémon’s carrying container, using carbon fiber, resin, and fiberglass.

After a viewer provided a really bad idea of how to create a flaming version of Pokémon’s fiery little Charmander, maker Allen Pan of Sufficiently Advanced decided to hack together his own fire-breathing orange dragon from a talking plush, an air freshener machine, and birthday candle pilot light. He’s also got a taser Pikachu.

Domino mosaic master The Domino King pays tribute to two staples of the Pokémon universe, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu. This amazing display features 35,592 colorful dominoes, arranged to form a variety of festive Pokémon-themed images.

Our latest look at Nintendo Switch’s mega RPG Pokémon Sword and Shield is a doozy. The game will feature open-world areas where wild pokémon are visible, raids for up to four players, and a three-turn move called Dynamax that turns your critters into giants. The game drops 11/15/19.
