This upcoming platformer sends two players on a mission of discovery after they lose their mouths and ability to speak. Created by animation studio WiredFly and developer Kong Orange, the game is noteworthy for its beautiful handmade puppets and stop-motion action. Coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2026.

If there was ever a game that summed up a generation, it just might be Screenbound. This upcoming first-person platformer has you navigate its 3D world by playing a 2D version of it on a handheld device that your character is looking at the whole time, blocking part of your view. It doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can wishlist it on Steam.

Simon from ClayClaim has made some incredible polymer clay sculptures based on video games. This time, he upgraded from a static diorama to a motion scene. He used clay and paper to craft a backdrop based on Sonic the Hedgehog’s Green Hill Zone, then attached a LEGO Technic motor and added a wheeled Sonic to run through the level.

This Nintendo Switch title takes 2D platforming action to the max. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is packed with crisp modern graphics, colorful environments, and lots of silly new enemies. The game QWOP challenged players to make a 2-dimensional figure walk using their keyboard to control its limbs. Sonic Superstars aims to freshen up the 2D platform action with modern graphics, all-new zones, new Chaos Emerald powers, and the ability to play side-by-side with friends as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose. This unique indie game from Extra Nice challenges players to move through an isometric 3D environment by moving and jumping only in the shadows. It combines elements of platformers and puzzle games with a unique line-art aesthetic. Coming to PC, Mac, Linux, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox.

Alawar Premium’s 2D action platformer features a cool, hand-painted animation style. Players take on the role of a three-armed bounty hunter on a mission to track down the galaxy’s most elusive fugitives and fight off their henchmen in fast-paced hack-and-slash combat. Add it to your Steam wishlist.

Game studio Kong Orange and Wired Fly Animation are working on this co-op puzzle game that puts players in the roles of Karla and Kurt, two friends on the verge of expressing their love, but who lose their ability to speak. Each character and background will be hand-animated using traditional stop-motion techniques.

This co-op 3D platformer asks you and a friend to play a clashing human couple who are magically turned into dolls. The duo must work together to use their unique abilities and weapons to navigate life-size locations from their miniaturized perspectives. It drops 3.25.2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Currrently available on Steam Early Access for Windows and Mac, Darklight is an intense 2D-scrolling action platformer with impressive lighting and cool cyberpunk aesthetics. As you move through its dimly-lit industrial levels, you’ll encounter dangerous creatures who only appear under the light of your companion drone.

This upcoming action game drops players into a vivid digital world. Much like the plot of TRON, players find themselves inside of a mainframe computer, and must traverse their environment through a series of platforming, hacking, and intense combat sequences. Coming to Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC.

Crash Bandicoot is back, and not with a remaster of an old title, but a whole new game. With modern graphics, massive new worlds, new skills, and challenging new boss battles, the new Crash looks every bit as good as Ratchet & Clank now. Coming to PS4 on 10.2.20.

This platform puzzler puts players in the character of a rolling skull. Transform into three different shapes, each possessing different skills needed to navigate through its 18 levels and seven environments. You can even throw your own head when changing forms. This quirky platform puzzle game has two interesting constructs: 1) you can only jump twice in each level; and 2) you break one leg each time you jump. Azaan Lambkin’s submission to itch.io’s Finally Finish Something 2020 contest ironically has a bug that keeps some players from seeing the game’s ending.
