Awesome Pioneer

We had a chance to listen to Pioneer’s new Z series car speakers during our visit to their factory, and they sounded truly stellar, with zero distortion, huge dynamic range, and brilliant reproduction that’s on par with some of the best home audio systems we’ve heard.

Touted by Pioneer as the world’s lightest and slimmest external Blu-ray burner, the BDR-X04 weighs just 8.5 oz and measures just 5.2″x 0.55″x 5.2″. It can read and write to DVD and CD as well.

Pioneer’s vehicle heads up display uses a projector with a laser for a light source, resulting in high quality images, while a special combiner enables the image to be enlarged to up to 25 inches.

Available 11/09, Pioneer’s CDJ-2000 is a multi-format digital turntable that can be linked with up to 4 other units; it also packs a 6.1″ LCD, needle search pad and jog dial.

Mixing satellite radio with a bit of TiVo-like tech, the Pioneer XMp3 is a portable satellite radio that’ll record up to five stations simultaneously; it also has a 30-min buffer for rewind.
