Awesome Parkour

Rishi Kaneria couldn’t have picked a better title for his video. Using a Canon 60D and a bit of Twixtor magic, he was able to capture the grace and power of the movements of pro stuntman Dante Ha.

Freerunner Ryan Doyle takes us on an enchanting and enthralling parkour run through the exotic locale of Mardin, located in Turkey. Have you ever seen pigeons do backflips before? Us neither.

(NSFW: Lyrics) Freerunning gets as much plot as it can in this acrobatic short film. Ok, so jumping off of walls and rails isn’t really a story, but it’s still way cool – especially on fire. (Thanks, Ian!)

Before anyone out there gets ready to flip out at the amusement park, you should know that the NJ State Fair closed the ride down for the WFPF to film these sick parkour moves. Kids: no, you may not.

Some might say that Tret, the all-muscle star here, is just an out of control canine, but those with a discerning eye know he’s in training for the pet parkour olympics. Low quality vid; sweet moves.

While we’ve seen our share of cool Parkour stunts over the years, this video reminds us that it’s the extreme sport of insane people, and you should never, ever try it yourself.

Inspired by 19th century French firemen, or pompier, pomparkour adds ladders to the already dangerous pastime. This particular video though is actually a viral ad for an energy drink.

And we thought the building jumping, wall climbing acrobatics of Parkour were a recent phenomenon. Check out this 1930 footage of Arnim Dahl which proves that it’s been around much longer than that.

This flowing video from Latvian talent Andrew Skuryat is 14+ minutes with some NSFW music, but you’ll want to watch it all to see some impressive athleticism, free running and parkour moves.

We can kinda sorta juggle, but Aung Zaw Oo puts us to shame with his AZO Showreel 2009; he parkours, juggles, skateboards, swordplays, and gets dressed — often simultaneously.

Serene Teh’s Parkour Motion Reel is a bit of finger gymnastics in and of itself; it’s a fantastic stop-motion animation drawn with a technical pen that really puts the “flip” in flip book.

Infamous‘ inadvertent twin, Prototype, comes out June 9th; this launch trailer doesn’t reveal anything new, but does a good job of showing off the game’s messy brand of violence.
