Arcade1Up created these retro video game systems that you can put on a tabletop or mount on a wall. Each one features a 17″ color LCD screen, arcade-quality joystick and buttons, and comes loaded with eight licensed games. QVC sells the Asteroids, Pac-Man, or Ms. Pac-Man variants, while HSN has a Centipede version.
Awesome Pac Man
W.Essentiéls, Faith Industries, and Bandai Namco celebrate 40 years of Pac-Man with a cool collection of 8-bit fashions. Among the pixelated picks are an OG Maze black shirt, colorful ghost hoodies, and a Chasing Ghosts windbreaker. The varsity jacket is our favorite but isn’t available just yet. Also, it’s “Inky,” not “Inkly” folks.
Tamashii Nations envisions Pac-Man as a Chogokin mech. Made from a mix of ABS plastic and die-cast metal, the 4″ tall dot-gobbling machine has a metallic skin and can launch flying punches to help ward off ghosts. His flip-top head opens to reveal the real Pac-Man at the controls inside the mech. Drops Fall 2021.
These days, you can play Pac-Man on your phone. But it’s way more fun to play the classic arcade game using heavy-duty construction equipment. Fortunately, the guys at CAT are here to scratch that itch, as they not only dug out a maze but used a group of remote-controlled track loaders to play a live-action game.
Celebrate your love for Namco’s classic arcade game with this series of premium wearables from Brava Fabrics. The collection includes a mix of cotton shirts and wool sweaters embellished with pixel art characters. Our favorites are the printed long-sleeve shirt and the less subtle, holiday-friendly Jacquard sweater.
Namco’s classic ’80s arcade game Pac-Man has made its way into the blocky world of Minecraft. The DLC includes 10 different mazes and the ability to build your own, along with gameplay that roughly approximates the original dot-gobbling action, just in 3D. Available now from the Minecraft Marketplace.
If you can believe it, 2020 is the 40th anniversary of the release of Pac-Man. Numskull Designs is celebrating 4 decades of the dot gobbler with a special edition 1/4-scale arcade machine, a collectible gift set, pin badges, and socks. There’s also a limited-edition mini machine signed by Pac-Mac creator Toru Iwatani.
Fans of classic video games will recognize this guy as Blinky, the pixelated red ghost from Pac-Man. Here, he’s serving a useful purpose by giving your headphones a place to rest when you’re not wearing them. Handmade from baltic birch, sanded smooth, and painted by artist BalticPrime. Also available as a scared blue ghost.
A limited-edition record packed with music and sound effects from classic Namco arcade games like Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Rally-X, Mappy, Galaga, Xevious and more. Each disc is pressed in sweet “pixel explosion” vinyl, and comes with an 8-page booklet about the games.
Retro video game fans will love this clock which displays animated pixel art from the classic arcade game. Its 512 individual LEDs show the time along with pixel-perfect art of Pac-Man and his ghostly nemeses. Officially licensed by Bandai Namco. Measures 7.8″w x 4.2″h x 2″d.
A lighthearted take on the 1979 classic The Warriors replacing the original’s street thugs with Inky, Blinky, Pinky, Clyde, and Pac-Man himself. It’s a fun action-packed short from Fury Fingers, though we were hoping the Furies would turn up to play some R.B.I. Baseball.
