An elite detective goes up against a serial killer called the Snowman, who strikes only on the first day of snow and marks his crime scenes with snowmen. Michael Fassbender, J.K. Simmons and Charlotte Gainsbourg star in this adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s novel.

Wonder Woman leads the charge, the Flash is too young for this sh*t and Aquaman does the Bryce Harper move in our latest look at Zack Snyder’s Justice League. We’re not sure why they still look up to Superman after Dawn of Justice though.

“What were you the god of again?” Thor, the Hulk and another familiar face must team up to stop Hela, the goddess of death, from destroying all of Asgard. At least they got snazzy haircuts before all hell breaks loose.

“We’re not in a prophecy. We’re in a stolen Toyota Corolla.” Netflix’s upcoming exclusive movie is set in an alternate present in which humans share the world with fairies, elves and other fantasy creatures. Starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. Premieres 12/22/17.

“Manners. Maketh. Man.” The latest trailer for the Kingsman sequel teases even more action and gizmos, like a high tech lasso and a suitcase grenade launcher. Fox also released a short cartoon showing Archer invading the Kingsman office.

Mondo’s upcoming art book is a back catalog of its highly sought-after movie posters. The book includes prints of Olly Moss’ posters for the Star Wars trilogy, Francesco Francavilla’s Clash of the Titans piece, Laurent Durieux’s subtle Jaws poster and many more.

From filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes an original story about an unusual love. Set in 1963, The Shape of Water is about a mute cleaning lady who befriends an amphibious creature that’s being held captive by the government. Premieres 12/8/17.

ScreenPrism briefly analyzes Christopher Nolan’s diverse filmography. His movies are often morally ambiguous stories revolving around someone with multiple personas, but it seems he has taken a more positive turn beginning with Interstellar.

Set in Europe during the Ice Age roughly 20,000 years ago, Alpha is an epic adventure about the very first good boy. Both injured and left for dead, a young man and a wolf come to rely on each other and try to make their way back home before winter. Premieres 3/2/18.

(PG-13: Language) James Franco stars and directs in this well–received comedy. It’s about Tommy Wiseau and his film The Room, a movie so bad that it broke the scale and has become a cult classic. Based on the eponymous memoir co-authored by The Room actor Greg Sestero.

“There is such a thing as a tesseract.” A girl and her new friends must confront evil itself to save her father in this adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic fantasy novel. Starring Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling. Premieres 3/9/18.

(PG-13) Wisecrack’s Garyx Wormuloid looks back at an Earthling cult classic: Amy Heckerling’s sweet and smart teen movie Clueless. He enumerates Cher Horowitz’s epiphanies while poking fun at the movie’s heavy-handed foreshadowing.

“The human way is violence and death.” Like other excellent examples of fantasy and science fiction, the Planet of the Apes movies urge us to look inward. ScreenPrism points out how the franchise’s movies served as signs of their times.

“The mysterious thing about telling stories is that it ends up changing you.” Lessons from the Screenplay relays how co-director Pete Docter and the rest of the story team for Inside Out got stuck in a rut, and how they eventually figured out how the movie would play out.

(PG-13) “Equality and Opportunity Worth the Fight.” Louis CK is hosting Dana Flor and Toby Oppenheimer’s documentary Check It on his site. The film is about the eponymous gang-turned-foundation that was created by gay African-American teens in Washington DC.

“…show business? I’ve never heard of it.” “‘Cause I just invented it.” Hugh Jackman stars as P.T. Barnum in this feel good musical inspired by the world famous circus founder. Also starring Michelle Williams, Zac Efron and Zendaya. Premieres 12/25/17.
