Awesome Mortal Kombat

Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Scorpion and Smoke attacked hapless citizens with their dance moves while blasting – what else? – the theme to Mortal Kombat. They should square off against the dance assassin.

Whether you’re a fan of the Oakland Raiders or Mortal Kombat, Lord Raiden will terrorize your opponents with his glowing eyes, teleportation combos, and lightning-powered end-zone dance.

Maybe it’s just because we’ve recently been capping off late night sessions of Mortal Kombat with classic episodes of Family Matters, but we kind of wish this sitcom from Dorkly was the real deal.

There’s a nightmare in the Outworld tournament – a living nightmare. Wes Craven’s classic horror character enters Shao Kahn’s tournament, glove-mounted razors and hellish powers in tow.

With both Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat (9) in stores this week, we’re just as confused about which of these two awesome games to put into our consoles too. TheGameStation has the optimal solution.

NetherRealm Studios talks about the X-Ray Attack, a new feature in Mortal Kombat that lets players see the bone breaking and flesh bursting damage they inflict. These are finishing moves, aren’t they?

This bundle comes with a Fight Stick, which has a memory foam underside so you can use it on your lap, and doubles as a storage compartment as well. Also has a Retro-Ninja costume unlockable.

The latest trailer for Mortal Kombat shows archenemies Scorpion and Sub-Zero engaged in combat. Scorpion gains the upper hand, but just when Shao Kahn orders Scorpion to “Finish Him”…

This Mortal Kombat video only goes to show how bad-ass Sub-Zero truly is, showcasing his signature attacks and ability to link special moves together to create more lethal combos. (Thanks Dungey!)

After Scorpion, it’s time for Sub-Zero’s story. We’re beginning to wonder why these trailers spend more time on the cliché stories of fighting game characters than in-game footage, though.

Mortal Kombat’s Fatalities are known as “finishing moves,” but it turns out that there’s a little something extra at the end, sorta like staying past the credits at a movie to find some bonus footage.

Get over here and watch Scorpion play the Mortal Kombat theme on his accordion. The look on his face is just so damned intense we couldn’t help but be moved a little. And laugh a lot.

NetherRealm Studios seems to be doing a killer job at making the latest Mortal Kombat. This preview shows a bit of tag team action – a first for the series – and of course, a fatality at the end.

Not to be confused with the awesome live-action Mortal Kombat Rebirth vid clip, the latest MK game looks like a flashback to the roots of the classic fighter – with much better graphics.

Video hit the web today of what looks like a reboot of Mortal Kombat, going with a gritty, real-world take on the classic franchise. We’re not sure if it’s for a game or this movie, but it looks awesome.
