Awesome Mindstorms

We’ve seen a LEGO machine that keeps knocking down and standing up a row of dominoes, but this version by JK Brickworks is even more satisfying. After its 64 dominoes start falling, a motorized train runs around its circular track and stands them back up. If it weren’t for its power needs, it could run forever.

Do you have lots of gifts to wrap? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a machine that could measure and cut paper to exactly the right size? LEGO builder The Brick Wall made just the thing. Simply place a present on the box scanner, and the Mindstorms-controlled machine automatically unrolls the paper and cuts it to size.

Yoshihito Isogawa shows off another impressive build. He used LEGO Technic and Mindstorms parts, along with mirrors and a laser pointer to create a mechanism that can project laser patterns on the wall by rapidly modulating its reflector. Here’s another variant he also made.

After creating a LEGO guitar robot, TECHNICally Possible built this impressive LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot which play the keys on a small electronic keyboard. Here, it takes over the piano part for the song On Longing with Holly Throsby performing vocal duties.
