Awesome Metroid

Filmmaker Devin Supertramp and team created this fan film inspired by the world of Metroid Prime and Super Metroid. Ainsley Bircher portrays Samus Aran on a mission to find the Chozo Temple and to fix her damaged suit. They did a great job taking advantage of the frigid location shoot and combining live action with VFX.

A remake of the 1991 Game Boy classic Metroid II: Return of Samus. Made for 3DS and 2DS systems, Metroid: Samus Returns overhauls the game’s graphics and adds new abilities including the ability to fire at any angle, a melee counter attack and new powers. Drops 9/17/17.

Bounty hunter Samus Aran receives a distress signal from the extinct Chozo in Rainfall Films’ exciting short film. Writer and director Sam Balcomb made the short in the style of ’60s and ’70s sci-fi films such as 2001, Alien,and Solaris.

Get ready for the latest in the Metroid series for the Nintendo Wii. In Metroid: Other M, Samus is back in prime form, with seamless transitions between 3D and side-scrolling gameplay using the Wii-mote.

It’s been awhile since Metroid: Other M’s first trailer, but we’re happy to glimpse Samus even if she’s a bit emo in this Nintendo Summit Cinematic trailer; it’s due out in NA 6/27/10.

Samus shines again in this Metroid Prime Trilogy gameplay trailer; it includes the first two Gamecube games reworked for the Wii along with MP3 and is due out August 24th.

Tecmo’s Team Ninja and Nintendo will be teaming up for the Wii-only, all-new Metroid: Other M, which features a mix of first and third-person action; it’s due out 2010. Thanks, JD!

Metroid: Confrontation is a tech demo for AM2R, a Metroid II fan remake by DoctorM64; while the full version is still in the works, the demo is plenty playable and available for download.
