Awesome Mega Man

The latest trailer for Mega Man 11 introduces Double Gear, a new ability that lets the Blue Bomber slow down time as well as overcharge his Mega Buster. It also showcases new stages and two new bosses, Fuse Man and Block Man. The game drops 10/2/18.

Mega Man turns 30 in 2018. What better way to celebrate than with a whole new game? Coming in late 2018 for the Switch, PS 4, Xbox One, and Windows, Mega Man 11 has all the trappings of the series. Memorize patterns. Acquire powers. Jump and shoot.

If you thought it was difficult to get all the way through a single Mega Man game, you’ll be even more impressed by Aura Puffs’ ability – to complete both Mega Man X and Mega Man X2 at the same time – with a single controller.

REACT introduced a bunch of helpless kids to the unforgiving NES platformer. “I am Mega Man though… how do you earn that title if every little thing hurts you?” Not with in-app purchases, that’s for sure. Oh Snap Man and Burn Man!

Have a very Mega Christmas with ThinkGeek’s officially licensed Mega Buster replica. It fits on either your left or right hand and has two different light and sound effect sets, one for a normal shot and one for a charged shot.

Street Fighter x Mega Man takes the Blue Bomber back to his NES era, but with characters from the Street Fighter series. The game will be available for free on 12/17/12. (Thanks Seanrobot!)

Apparel maker Punk Drunkers teamed up with fellow Japanese company Capcom to make these ballin’ Rockman aka Mega Man hoodies. The left sleeve can be rolled up to reveal a Mega Buster.

Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch mixes Mega Man with Doom 2, turning the original 8-bit sprites and textures into a 3D shooter; the fan-created game aims to recreate Mega Man 1-6.

Due out 1/6/10, Mega Man: Official Complete Works is 200 pages of Mega-awesome; it’s packed with 20 years of artwork including characters, box art, promo art, and rare art pieces.

WiiWare gets another retro-reboot with Mega Man 10, which continues 9’s 8-bit style; it’ll feature 8 Robot Master bosses along with Proto Man and a secret playable third character.

This isn’t the first time Mega Man has dipped his toe in the third dimension, but Peter Sjöstrand’s trippy, swooping 2.5D version of Mega Man 2 stays true to his 8-bit NES roots.
