Awesome Mazda Miata

Car fanatic and off-road racer Emme Hall has in her possession a wonderfully bonkers vehicle: a modified Mazda Miata which has been lifted and kitted out for rally racing. His name is Buddy, a tribute to the Netflix series Buddy Thunderstruck. Overland Bound spent some time with Emme to check out her sweet little ride.

We may be big fans of the latest-gen Mazda Miata, but we’ve never driven one with a 532 hp stuffed under the hood. DRIVETRIBE editor Henry Catchpole went for a ride in one of Flyin’ Miata’s heavily-modded roadsters, which packs a 6.2-liter Chevy LS3 V8 engine.

We had the opportunity to take the new retractable fastback version of the MX-5 Miata for a spin through the hills of Southern Cali. The MX-5 RF is every bit as fun as the roadster, looks amazing, and offers added shelter from the elements. Full review on 95octane.

A limited-edition of just 1,000 of the 2017 retractable roof fastback Miata. The MX-5 RF Launch Edition comes in Grand Touring trim, and has just one option – a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Each buyer will also receive a custom 42mm Tourneau watch as a memento.

The already amazingly good Mazda MX-5 Miata gets a retractable targa-style top, which frankly, makes this the looking MX-5 ever, with its smooth, fastback look when closed. Not only does the roof retract, but the back window folds to allow for maximum exhaust note ear candy.

While we’re still waiting for a Mazdaspeed variant of the MX-5, we’ve got the RS Racing Concept, a beautifully blacked-out Miata, rocking sport aero with red accents, Recaro seats, performance brakes, height-adjustable suspension, and performance chassis tweaks.

Fresh from the factory, a Mazda MX-5 Miata comes with just North of 100 hp. But drift racer Mad Mike Whiddett outfitted his “RADBUL” Miata with a 1500 hp twin-turbo rotary engine. While the stock MX-5 hugs corners, the RADBUL scorches them instead.
