Maker and Mythbuster Adam Savage loves to show up at conventions in costumes that completely disguise his identity. For SiliCon 2021, he walked the aisles in an awe-inspiring suit based on Tony Stark’s original Iron Man Mark 1 armor. Savage recently finished the outfit after it sat gathering dust for nearly a decade.

There’s little argument that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has crushed it against the DC Extended Universe when it comes to superhero movies and TV shows. Spam591 provides his analysis of what has made Marvel’s consistent, serialized approach work so much better than the competition.

Over the past two years, engineer JT of Built IRL has been trying to figure out how to swing like Spider-Man. He eventually arrived at a compact web-shooter that uses compressed propane to fire cables, then realized he needed to wear several of them if he wanted to swing more than once. We love how he did his thesis on this.

Steven Richter continues to wow us with his sculptures of pop culture characters. In this video, he created a 1/2-size bust of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, sculpting the head in clay, making a silicone mold, then casting it in resin. After painting details and adding hair, he topped Marvel’s mischievous god with a 3D-printed crown.

While the MCU Phase 4 is underway on Disney+, it’s yet to start on the big screen. Marvel kicks things off with a bang with the debut of Shang-Chi, a young man capable of possessing mystical powers who wants to escape his past, but just can’t get away from his legacy. Drops 9.3.2021.

Captain America’s shield possesses some impressive, but implausible physical characteristics. In addition to its near indestructibility and ability to absorb energy, it can bounce off of surfaces and come back to Cap. JLaservideo wanted to see what it would take to replicate the shield’s key features, including its ricochet.

Artist Steven Richter is a sculpting master. Watch as he turns a Deadpool-shaped clay blank into a realistic life-size bust of Hulk as he appeared in The Avengers. We loved watching his facial features evolve as he went from an emotionless grey blob to an angry superhero ready to smash stuff.

As we’ve seen before, DP Truong has exceptional portrait drawing skills. In this video, the artist wanted to see how long they could draw and how many Marvel characters he could crank out with a single pencil before it wore down to an unusable nub of wood and graphite.
