Tolkien fans know Gollum’s “precious” ring was made of precious metal. Enso Rings, however, makes a case for silicone with its Lord of the Rings collection. The Lord of the Rings fans will drool over this incredible LEGO model of the peaceful elven haven of Rivendell. The 6167-piece kit is one of LEGO’s 10 biggest sets ever and is packed with fantastic details. It includes 15 minifigures: Frodo, Bilbo, Boromir, Elrond, Arwen, Aragorn, Gimli, Merriadoc, Peregrin, Samwise, Legolas, and Gandalf.

The theme music from The Lord of the Rings is permanently ingrained in the minds of many a fantasy fan. Now hear it like it was meant to be played, thanks to flutist Paul Harvey, who performed the tune inside of a mile-long tunnel along a trail in Wisconsin. The acoustics add the perfect air of mystery.

While its maker Imagine Metal Art doesn’t explicitly call this fiery tower Barad-dûr, it’s clear that it was inspired by The Lord of the Rings’ dark fortress and its watchful eye. This impressive 5-foot-tall steel fire pit breathes flames throughout and features The One Ring design at its base.

Artist Olivier Gomis paid tribute to The Lord of the Rings by creating a larger-than-life replica of The One Ring. He started by assembling wedges of wood into circles and smoothed them on a lathe. He then carved its engravings and added curly maple veneers so its lettering only appears when its hidden LED lights are switched on.

Cryo115 came up with this crazy AI-powered lipsync of The Lord of the Rings’ loathsome little character Gollum, and the ridiculous 1990s song The Scatman. The result is like peanut butter and chocolate coming together, except it’s two strange tastes that taste stranger together.

Fox Searchlight’s upcoming biographical drama shares the formative years of J.R.R. Tolkien. The movie will explore the events and the people – his wife and his “fellowship” – that he would go on to use as inspiration for his novels. Premieres 5/10/19.

A sense of urgency is a mainstay of the Lord of the Rings films but it’s hard to not glaze over when forced to sit through yet another sequence of determined heroes hoofing it hard. Thanks to Slate for proving we’re not just imagining things.
