Awesome Loops

In 2016, freeskier Jesper Tjäder performed a crazy stunt: He skied a rail grind through a loop-de-loop. Now, he’s back to attempt a similar stunt. This time, the top of the loop is missing, so he has to jump from one side of the loop to the other while upside-down. Here’s a different perspective of the trick, captured from beneath the loop.

We thought the only way to land a dart on a dartboard was to throw it through the air. This skilled “dartist” shows how it’s possible to place a dart right in the bullseye by tossing it into a vertical loop, where it spins around and hits the bullseye. Mikhail Parkhomenko’s short film is more sizzle than steak, but what a sizzle it is. The loopable sequence was shot by pilot Emil Khaziev whose FPV drone descends from inside a building, chases a car, flies inside of it, then pauses to observe a scene. To pull that off a passenger had to catch the drone in motion while the pilot cut power.

Over the years, Dave of sheepfilms has created some pretty wild short animations, among them this trippy loop that makes it look like a package that’s being delivered contains the front door into which it is being delivered. Lather, rinse, repeat.
