Awesome Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes cartoons are known for iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, and Foghorn Leghorn. The animators who created these characters and their voices often are mentioned, but the artists who created the background images are rarely mentioned. LEGO and Warner Bros. teamed up to create a series of Minifigs based on Looney Tunes characters. The 12 mystery-bagged figures include Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Sylvester, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig, Petunia Pig, Speedy Gonzales, Tasmanian Devil, and Marvin the Martian.

Watchmaker UNDONE teamed up with Looney Tunes to create a pair of watches inspired by the cartoon classic Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century. The black PVD-coated stainless steel watches feature half-x-ray images of the eponymous duck, along with fan-favorite Marvin the Martian. Each watch is limited to just 150 pieces.

Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam might have lost their guns, but everything else about these all-new Looney Tunes cartoons captures the style and slapstick comedy spirit of the classics. Editor KaiserBeamz went back through the extensive catalog of Looney Tunes cartoons, going back from 1929 through 1969, and picked out a choice one-second clip from each one. The 17+ minute reel is packed with quick laughs and serves as a great historical retrospective.

Despite their political incorrectness, we still love us some classic Looney Tunes cartoons. While Warner Bros. has all but buried the old ones, this 2019 cartoon captures the look and outlandish slapstick style of the classics, and serves to tease a new series coming from the studio.
