Lexus Slide Hoverboard (Teaser)
Lexus claims it has developed an honest-to-goodness hoverboard. The Slide is equipped with a liquid nitrogen reserve and magnets to attain frictionless movement. Don’t play with our hearts Lexus. Let this be legit.

Between the extravagant supercars, hypercars and megacars at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Lexus showed off an unconventional and eyecatching little ride – a futuristic ultra compact 2+2 designed for quick jaunts in the city.
The Lexus GS F takes the same awesome 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 found in the Lexus RC F, bestowing the spacious and luxurious GS sedan with 467 horses, and a torque-vectoring differential for impeccable cornering.
The new Lexus RC F sports coupe looks especially striking in this metallic platinum finish, along with body-hugging sport seats in circuit red leather and carbon fiber trim. Of course, the 467hp 5.0L V8 burbling beneath the hood doesn’t hurt either.
The Lexus LF-C2 Concept is a luxury 2+2 roadster. Its mix of curves and sharp lines and edges is no doubt polarizing but will be familiar to Lexus fans. The car’s leather interior is lit by its LEDs and touchscreen monitors.
After much anticipation, we’ve now experienced both the 467hp Lexus RC F and 306hp RC 350 F-Sport coupes, and all we can say is that Lexus has knocked it out of the park. Head over to 95octane for full details of our test drive.
Directed by Alec Berg as part of Lexus’ Amazing in Motion series, dozens of stuntmen were rigged up all over Kuala Lumpur in LED suits to give the illusion of a single parkour athlete crossing the city. Behind the scenes footage here.
If you’ve been considering an IS F, hold off. Wait for the LFA-inspired RC F, a sexy new sports coupe, with a powerful 5.0L V8 with 450+hp and 383+ lb-ft. of torque, an 8-speed direct-shift transmission, and a torque-vectoring differential.
Lexus commissioned KMel Robotics to build and choreograph an army of custom flying drones to create this amazing and entertaining flying robot ballet. It’s too bad they had to cheat with VFX. Learn how they did it here, here and here.
The RC takes much of what we liked about the 2014 IS series and packs it into a dynamic and sporty 2-door coupe. Available as the RC 350 with a 3.5L V6 and the RC 300h, a hybrid with a 2.5L 4. We’re hoping for an F-Sport edition too.
The cabriolet hasn’t had the visual overhaul of its sedan brethren, but it has the advantage that it can drop its hardshell top in warmer climes. Powered by 3.5L 306hp V6, it hits 60 in a respectable 5.8 secs, and gets 27mpg (hwy).
We were recently in Vegas checking out the Lexus F-Sport line when this happened. Yes, that’s champion rally car driver Ken Gushi playing a little game of roulette by drifting in a Lexus IS F. It was even more fun inside the car.
In this awesome augmented reality game for the Lexus IS Hybrid, former F1 driver Jarno Trulli zipped his way to a goal that was projected on the floor while staying on a path that his co-drivers made on the fly using a tablet app.
We already saw the IS 350 F-Sport and now we’ve driven the entire 2014 IS lineup on the track. The changes aren’t just external. Both IS 250 and 350 handle more aggressively than past models. We like the 3.5L RWD models best.
Prior to its official launch, Lexus released images of the redesigned IS F SPORT, with an aggressive new grille and front bumper, and a sporty, ergonomic interior. IS 250 and 300h hybrid models coming too.
