Celebrate Star Wars Day with some Imperial destruction! After spending 16 hours building a massive LEGO Star Destroyer, WIRED did the unthinkable – they smashed it and captured the recording at 1000fps for our enjoyment.

Digital Wizards Studios used over $100,000 worth of LEGO to recreate some of the most memorable scenes from Jurassic Park. Though in the spirit of LEGO films and games they added humourous twists here and there as well.

LEGO Jurassic World features events and characters from the four Jurassic Park movies. Like many other LEGO games, it will support drop-in/drop-out local multiplayer. You’ll also be able to collect and play as 20 dinosaurs.

The LEGO 71016 Kwik-E-Mart set has all of Apu’s classic products such as Buzz Cola and Krusty O’s. It also comes with Chief Wiggum’s cop car and minifigures of Apu, Homer, Marge, Bart, Snake and Chief Wiggum. Drops this May for $200.

A spot-on recreation of the classic clock tower sequence from Back to the Future, painstakingly animated using stop motion by Macro LEGO Universe. It’s so well done that we want to see the entire movie trilogy in LEGO.

LEGO’s Speed Champions sets feature Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche race cars and supercars, including the LaFerrari, the Scuderia Ferrari team, the McLaren P1, the McLaren Mercedes team, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the 911 GT team.

LEGO enthusiast website TechLug asked members to depict Boba Fett’s escape from the Sarlacc in Tatooine. For his entry, Daniel Stoeffler made a detailed underground cavern along with an interesting story involving Jawas.

Based on the Helicarrier from The Avengers, this 2,996 pc., 31″ long LEGO set is insanely detailed, and includes tiny jets, trucks, and both minifigs and scale microfigures. Its rotors turn and can be upgraded with motors. Available March 2015.

Zoinks! LEGO and Warner Bros. have teamed up to bring us not only LEGO Scooby Doo sets, but a LEGO Scooby-Doo animated special is also in the works. Several sets are on the way, including the best van ever, The Mystery Machine.

The LEGO Movie was one of our favorite flicks of 2014. Not only was it hilarious and clever, it was packed with amazing animation which mimicked low-budget brickfilm style using CGI. They literally built each object brick by digital brick.
