One of the cooler LEGO Technic kits out there is the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It’s simply stunning. But that didn’t stop the guys from c’t Magazine from taking theirs and smashing it into a wall, with the help of the German automotive safety group ADAC and their crash test facility.

LEGO Ideas contributor Mukkinn designed this series of neat fossilized dinosaur statues which would let you have your own miniature natural history museum on your desk. Show your support, and let’s see if we can get LEGO to put them into production.

SillyBrickPics custom-made LEGO minifig set was clearly inspired by artist Bob Ross. It comes complete with his curly perm, a painter’s palette, easel, canvas, and jars of paint. We can already imagine him teaching the joy of painting to other minifigs in hush tones.

We’ve seen a deadly replica of Cloud’s weapon of choice. Here’s a life-size replica that’s less threatening but still backbreaking. ZaziNombies used about 2,000 LEGO pieces to make this 6ft, 8lb replica. Someone teach him how to hold it.

Flynn’s Arcade shows off a nifty custom LEGO set from One More Brick, which lets you easily build an awesomely creepy model of a xenomorph from Alien. It comes complete with a LEGO facehugger too, though it looks like a bit like a Dreamcast that sprouted legs.

One of the creepier and more awesome mechanised LEGO builds we’ve seen comes from Darryl Friesen aka Baronworks, who created this chomping sugar skull inspired by the Day of the Dead. The noise its 100 spinning gears only add to the effect.

JK Brickworks shows off another awesome mechanical build – a fully-functional printer/plotter that uses a pen to draw words and images on a sheet of paper that it feeds using the wheels from a LEGO vehicle, and a Mindstorms’ EV3 controller.

After building a couple of smaller versions, LEGO fanatic slfroden shows off a jumbo version of his Yoshimoto cube inspired construction which can be endlessly unfolded and folded back on itself.

Master builder ZaziNombies shows how to make a life-size and wearable replica of Minecraft’s Creeper Head out of LEGO. It measures about 10″ on each side and is made of about 1,100 LEGO pieces, including the TNT hidden inside.

A wonderful addition to the LEGO Architecture series, this 744-piece kit replicates the cylindrical structures of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, a true icon of New York modernist architecture. The finished model measures 7″(w) x 5″(d) x 4″(h).

Based on a proposal by LEGO Ideas members Felix Stiessen and Valérie Roche, this model kit features a 3ft-tall (1:110 scale) model of the Saturn V, the most powerful rocketship ever built. It comes with a lunar lander and three astronaut microfigs.

After showing off some of his amazing LEGO railways, BANANENBUURMAN captured a couple of his tracks with a 360º camera mounted directly on the railcar, so you can look around during the journey. If you happen to have a VR headset, it’s even cooler. More here.

Similar, but larger than JK Brickworks’ drawing machine, VBs LEGO Technic Creations contraption draws by moving a pen in its arms, while rotating a turntable that holds the paper. It appears to be able to draw much more intricate patterns than the smaller machine.

“A LEGO Hind D?!” YouTuber Bearly Regal is recreating Metal Gear Solid‘s Shadow Moses Island in the sandbox game LEGO Worlds. Here’s what he has so far. It’s amazing how simply adding in the PlayStation boot sequence makes it so much better.

For his latest challenge, blind film critic and YouTube celeb Tommy Edison did his best to assemble a couple of small objects using LEGO bricks. He really did a pretty good job given the fact that he couldn’t see a thing, and has never seen a house or a car.

Fans of Super Mario Bros. will immediately recognize this obnoxious bit of vegetation as a Piranha Plant. Jason from JK Brickworks brought the creature to life in mechanized LEGO form, complete with a motor drive to pop the plant up and down from a pipe as it chomps its jaws.

BrickVault takes an up close look at all 20 of the awesome LEGO BrickHeadz figures, including the various DC, Marvel, and Disney characters in Series 1, along with some collectible ones from SDCC. The big hair Joker and Captain Jack Sparrow ones are our faves.

This awesome stuff is a removable adhesive tape that’s compatible with LEGO, Mega Blocks, KRE-O, and other building bricks, letting you attach blocks pretty much anywhere. You can bend it, cut it, and stick it to everything from your shoes, to your fridge, to other toys.

LEGO builder Kristal – the “K” of JK Brickworks created this amazing kinetic sculpture, designed to mimic the wing movements of a fruit bat. Its wings flap up and down, sweep forward, and expand and contract. Jason Allemann walks us through how it works.

YouTuber ZaziNombies reminds us that we can make anything with LEGO. Not just a regular sandwich or a sandvich, but also a robo-sandvich. This model’s probably cheaper than the virtual item too. NOM NOM NOM.

LEGO builder Berthil van Beek created this wonderfully soothing contraption which sees an array of tiny sportsballs surfing across a wave made from 1,150 dancing LEGO bricks in 38 different colors. We want one for our office – in a soundproof chamber.

Beyond the Brick takes a look at James Burrows’ incredible prehistoric-themed amusement park made from over 125,000 bricks. We so wish we could shrink down to minifig size and take a ride on the CoasterSaurus II.

LEGO Ideas member MProtagonist’s proof-of-concept for a LEGO set based on the tearjerking fantasy pet simulator. Trico stands nearly 10″ tall and is almost 12″ long when assembled. Best of all, you can make him do what you want 100% of the time.
