Awesome Led Zeppelin

If there’s any song that needed a rubber chicken remake, we’d say it’s Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song. Fortunately, Chickensan is here to fulfill our wishes, replacing Robert Plant’s iconic wail with the pained squawks of plastic poultry.

Singer Robyn Adele Anderson applies her smooth and emotive vocals to this unique cover version of Led Zeppelin’s classic Immigrant Song. The jazzy arrangement is very different from the original’s aggressive guitars and wailing vocals, but it’s no less intriguing.

The Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra is best known for their classic Russian tunes, but they also enjoy the occasional rock and roll song. Here, their balalaika section performs a cover of the 1971 Led Zeppelin classic Stairway to Heaven. We had no idea that a contrabass balalaika was a thing.

Frank Maglio’s Amazon parrot Tico likes to sing along when Frank gets out his guitar. So sit back and enjoy a avian little serenade as the bird does its best Robert Plant impression, and embellishes Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven with a bit of whistling.

The Cybertronic Spree is a Transformers-themed tribute band who plays a variety of cartoon, videogame, and anime theme songs dressed in awesome costumes. During a 2019 concert, they also performed a truly entertaining cover of Led Zeppelin’s emphatically chanted Immigrant Song.

Back in 1978, Little Roger and the Goosebumps figured out that the lyrics to the theme from Gilligan’s Island lined up perfectly with Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven. Musician Luca Stricagnoli continues to wow us with his acoustic fingerstyle guitar performances, this time taking on the 1969 Led Zeppelin rock classic Whole Lotta Love. It’s certainly got a different texture without Jimmy Page’s memorable electric guitar sound, but it’s still pretty awesome.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was once bequeathed a 1959 Fender Telecaster guitar. With a little help from Page himself, the animators at Nexus Studios share the mystical story of this illustrious and iconic instrument. Fender sells a replica of the psychedelic dragon guitar here.

A quartet of musicians perform a soothing cover version of Led Zeppelin’s 1971 classic in a classic Japanese style, played on 21-string Nijugen-Kotos and wooden flutes. It’s reminiscent of Regina Spektor’s fantastic cover version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

The 2014-15 Louisville Leopard Percussionists, aged 7 to 12 practice a medley of Led Zeppelin classics Kashmir, The Ocean and Immigrant Song, played on marimbas, xylophone, vibraphone, drums, timbales, congas, bongos and piano.

Heart and Jon Bonham’s son Jason play Stairway to Heaven at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors, in front of Led Zeppelin and other awardees. It left us with cold hands and goosebumps.
