LaCie’s Rugged RAID Shuttle external drive now maxes out at a substantial 8 TB. They also now have USB-C and Thunderbolt 3-compatible versions. The drives are resistant to drops, rain, dust and crushing, and use Seagate’s encryption technology.
LaCie’s new Portable SSD uses USB-C for up to 540MB/s transfer speeds. It weighs just 2.9oz and is a mere 0.35″ thick. It’s also drop resistant up to 6.5ft. It’s available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, and comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable.
The latest version of LaCie’s dual-bay RAID desktop external drive comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and Seagate IronWolf HDDs for up to 440MB/s transfers. It also has USB 3.0, USB 3.1, CF, SD and DisplayPort ports. It will be available in 12TB, 16 TB and 20TB.
The LaCie Mirror is an external hard drive encased in polished Gorilla Glass 3, giving it a mirrored finish. And soon, a pattern of your fingerprints. The 1TB USB 3.0 drive comes with an ebony wood display stand and pen holder.
LaCie now uses a 5TB 7200rpm hard drive in their desktop Thunderbolt external drives. The voluminous storage device is available in the single drive d2, the dual-bay RAID 2big and the five-bay RAID 5big with up to 25TB.
LaCie says the diminutive MosKeyto is a “plug it & forget it” kind of thing. Because forgetting where you placed your files sure is a neat experience. But seriously, it’s perfect if you’re always on the go.
