Awesome Jaws

Jonny Campbell came up with this concept for a LEGO set inspired by Steven Spielberg’s classic thriller, JAWS. The set includes an accurate model of the Orca, loaded up with fishing gear and those iconic yellow barrels. It also comes with Bruce the great white shark, and minifigs of Brody, Hooper, and Quint.

Hopefully, you had a happy and relaxing 4th of July, and your beach vacation wasn’t interrupted by any terrifying monsters from the ocean. While a great white shark would definitely be bad, this great black kitty could really ruin your holiday.

Mondo’s toothy ceramic mug is inspired by the famed shark from Spielberg’s classic Jaws. Enjoy your tiki drinks straight from the mouth of this beast, which holds up to 22 oz. of your drink of choice. This particular version comes painted to match the original Jaws poster and includes a translucent red swimmer swizzle stick.

The upcoming Jaws board game has one player as the titular shark while up to three other players step in the role of Quint, Brody and Hooper. The shark player will attack swimmers and the heroes’ boat, while the humans try to find the shark and anticipate its next attack.

Wisecrack’s extraterrestrial critic Garyx Wormuloid takes on the first summer blockbuster hit, Jaws. Not that anyone needs further motivation to watch and appreciate Steven Spielberg’s classic, but it does have timely messages within.

Previous vinyl record releases of John Williams’ award-winning score for Jaws contain re-recorded versions of the songs. Mondo’s watery blue release marks the first time that the original score (albeit restored and edited) will appear on vinyl. PCC’s sleeve art is a plus too.

Screen Junkies is more flattering than usual as it recalls Steven Spielberg’s 1975 breakthrough classic, an amazing, memorable low-budget thriller that laid the groundwork for some of the best and worst genres of movies to follow.

Mondo celebrates the Alamo Drafthouse’s Jaws on the Water screening with merch designed by Tom Whalen. There’s a two-pin set based on the Jaws poster, a Jaws logo t-shirt, as well as a pin and a t-shirt depicting the SCUBA tank in Jaws’ mouth.

Universal Pictures pays homage to Back to the Future with a joke teaser about Jaws 19, which was in Back to the Future II‘s version of 2015. Props for being genuinely funny, and for not trying to cash in on the celebration. We bet the shark still looks fake though.

Guitarist 331Erock’s latest metal cover comes to us courtesy of John Williams’ dramatic main theme from Jaws. We have to say the abrasive electric guitar sounds seem much more fitting of an angry great white shark than a cello does.
