Awesome Jared Owen

Jared Owen has made some pretty amazing 3D illustrations to teach us how things work, but his digital model of the Titanic is the most awe-inspiring yet. This incredible video shows us virtually every detail of the ill-fated ship from the outside and in – deck-by-deck, and part-by-part.

3D illustrator Jared Owen loves to take things apart to show how they work. In this video, he looks at the mechanisms inside of two old-school mechanical scales to see how they use springs, gears, and plates to measure how much something weighs. It’s all about something called Hooke’s Law.

3D illustrator Jared Owen previously showed us the inner workings of an M1A2 Abrams tank, the Statue of Liberty, and a WWII Enigma machine. Now he’s back with a detailed look at the insides of London’s Elizabeth Tower aka Big Ben, which is both an architectural and engineering marvel of enormous proportions.

Animator Jared Owen has dissected the inner workings of everything from the Space Shuttle to the Enigma Machine. This time, he delves into something less complicated – the Playskool Poppin’ Pals toy you might have played with when you were a tot. It might not be rocket science, but it’s still some neat engineering.

We’re all pretty familiar with what the Statue of Liberty looks like from outside, but unless you’ve taken a tour, its insides are a mystery. 3D artist Jared Owen dissects NYC’s iconic landmark, ripping the skin off of Lady Liberty to expose her inner structure.
