Awesome Jackets

Part of Stone Island’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, this jacket has a double-dyed and reflective shell. It’s also been plated with a layer of microscopic glass beads to make it wind- and water-resistant. It also has a double-layer chest pocket.

Guerilla Group Eyes & Sins stray away from the MA-1 in the second version of its dope water-repellent noragi. The Nightfall Noragi Jacket 02 has large body patch pockets, chest welt pockets, an arm pocket and an internal chest pocket.

The highlights of Canadian brand The Common Folk’s Fall Winter 2016 collection include everything. They’re all good. All of them. The Kimon collection features shirts, jackets, pants and overalls in traditional Japanese silhouettes with embroidered or heat pressed family crests.

Stampd’s slim fit bomber is adorned with d-rings and straps for that special forces ninja look. It also has front billow pockets, sleeve pockets and two hidden zippered side pockets. Available in olive or black.

These officially-licensed jackets are based Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor and the Death Troopers from the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Jyn’s jacket comes with a vest, Cassian’s jacket is for extreme cold and the trooper jacket is waterproof. Drops 12/9/16.

Tokyo-based brand Bedwin & The Heartbreakers remakes its Cassidy jacket in lightweight and washed Japanese denim. It has a detachable hood, a corduroy-lined collar, nice contrast stitching and a shaggy felt lining.

For its latest jacket, Tokyo design collective Sasquatchfabrix appropriated sakiori, a woven fabric that’s made from worn out cloth and garments. It was made in ancient Japan when cotton was hard to come by. This jacket is made from scraps of military fabric.

The goose down insulated Aeroloft Zip Off jacket was made for cold weather running. But it’ll also keep you comfortable when you start heating up, thanks to its easily removable sleeves and quick-drying panels. Part of the new Gyakusou running collection.

HUF and Thrasher Magazine’s early Holiday special for skaters. The Tour de Stoops collection features 90’s style tees, shirts, socks and caps as well as coach jackets, anoraks and shoes. The two brands also made a skate video to complement their collection.

Just when we thought the MA-1 was all played out. Maharishi and Majocchi modernized the flight jacket, replacing satin with a weave of nylon and microfiber polyester with water-repellent coating. It’s topped with a dope alligator embro on the back.

NikeLab’s twist on the puffy vest is fresh but still versatile. The Puffer Jacket is made of ripstop polyester with a boxy fit and a wide neckline to accommodate hoodies. It also has discreet zippered side seam pockets. Available in navy blue or black.

Coldsmoke borrowed a couple of details from modern raincoats to freshen up the flight jacket. The shop’s MA-1 has a tailored hem with no elastic waistband, a beautiful water-repellent DWR Japanese fabric and graphite zippers. Available in green, blue and gray.

Bandai Namco’s Heihachi souvenir jacket is both awesome and infuriatingly expensive. It’s reversible, with both sides made of soft and shiny charmeuse. One side is embroidered with Heihachi, while the other side has his gi’s trademark tiger face. Limited to 1,000 pieces.

British apparel brand Dropdead has a line of officially-licensed Sonic the Hedgehog clothing and accessories. The ’90s inspired collection includes sweaters, jackets, tees, hats, and slipper replicas of Sonic’s Power Sneakers.
