Maker jbumstead is intrigued by devices that can store information, so he built a machine that can read data stored on large wooden discs. Similarly to a CD player, the machine uses lasers, photodiodes, and an circuit to decode and play back text messages stored on the discs. Check out the full build details on Instructables.

Instructables member oliverb made an Arduino-powered digital clock that has a fun mode. It can tell the time by playing Pong with itself, updating the score to accurately reflect the time. It can also show the time in large digits or with words. Learn how to make one here.

Instructables member bongoboy23 won the DIY site’s Lights Contest 2017 with his programmable infinity mirror coffee table. It has forty individual infinity mirrors and over 960 LEDs. It also has four USB ports, two AC outlets and an inductive pad for charging.

Instead of hiring a welder to fix his car, Instructables member Mr-Mash thought he’d do the welding himself. The problem is, he didn’t know how to weld. To teach himself, he picked up a book and made a bicycle with car wheels. He says the end result is not that hard to ride.

YouTuber Make Crazydays made all of the components of the board game Settlers of Catan out of a single 96″x 2″x 4″ piece of wood. He got wood shavings from the block then ironed those flat to make the cards. Check out his guide on Instructables.
