One of the challenges of VR gaming is the lack of freedom to walk around without running into walls. Freeaim hopes to change that with these motorized shoes, which let you walk in a small area while providing the sensation of covering large distances. They offer three movement modes and are sort of like a wearable version of Disney’s Holotile floor.

Advancements in display tech enable some pretty immersive experiences, like that storm simulation spa we checked out a while back. In this video from custom LED display maker JYVisions, they show off a party room wrapped in screens on all sides to surround viewers in moving images. That splashing water effect is awesome – it also might make us vomit.

But at this spa you can experience a torrential downpour without leaving the building. The immersive experience includes a drenching downpour, projections of lightning, and lighting and sound effects.
